TAP DANCE WITH VANS [DIY]
A video sketch for an open call by VANS.
In this video, a tap dancer takes center stage, showcasing their skills using upcycled shoes, all set against the backdrop of London's oldest skatepark. This performance beautifully underscores the importance of embracing the ethos of upcycling, supporting both creativity and sustainability in our lives.
A notable example is presented as the video introduces our homemade tap dancing shoes, inspired by the resourceful tradition of attaching bottle caps to shoe soles, transforming them into the quintessential tap dancers' footwear. We firmly believe that the fusion of these time-honored techniques with contemporary materials is crucial in shaping a distinctive perspective on the culture of upcycling.
Our goal here is to inspire individuals to unearth fresh connections between existing products. Instead of discarding items when they lose their original luster and utility, we advocate for unlocking their hidden potential and expanding their possibilities. We firmly believe that we wield the power to make creative decisions that promote accumulating less and creating more, ultimately supporting a more sustainable and innovative world.
